Gold Coin worth $1,000,000

100Kg Gold Maple Leaf “Mega” coin

The Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) unveiled the world’s largest, purest and highest denomination gold coin: the 2007 $1,000,000 (Canadian) Maple Leaf. This 220.5 pound coin contains 99.999% gold, making it the purest coin of its size in the world. Despite its $1,000,000 face value, the gold content of this mega-Maple Leaf is more than double this amount based upon current gold prices. Of course, the collectible value of this rare coin carries an even greater premium.

The previous record for the world’s largest coin was “Big Phil,” an Austrian coin which weighed a scant 68 pounds and a face value of only $150,000. The mega-Maple Leaf is nearly four times as large, measuring twenty-one inches long and 1.2 inches thick. Due to its size and gold purity, this coin requires a high level of hand crafting.

The road from Arica to Iquique is renowned for being dangerous; you drive past very deep valleys and wind your way through, spotting ever so often tell-tale vehicle skeletons at the bottom. The few times you can see cars and buses passing by, they were doing so at such a speed that you may think they are either tempting fate very foolishly or perhaps they are just ghosts whizzing past. The mono-hued and isolated scenery is well capable of endowing you with the capacity to have such visions, so concentrating and avoiding the use of any form of hallucinatory substance is essential here.

In China, the number of deaths caused by car accidents has nearly doubled in the past 20 years, climbing from 3.9 to 7.6 per 100,000 of the population between 1985 and 2005. The Sichuan-Tibet Highway, a high-elevation road between Chengdu and Tibet where landslides and rock avalanches are common, is undoubtedly part of the problem.

The 2,412km long Sichuan-Tibet Highway starts from Chengdu of Sichuan on the east and ends at Lhasa of Tibet on the west. The road stretches into Lhasa passing Ya’an, Garze and Chamdo. Sichuan-Tibet highway traverses 14 high mountains which average 4,000-5000m, spans dozens of famous rivers (Dadu River, Jinsha River, Lantsang River, Nujiang), crosses primeval forest and numerousdangerous sections. It has spectacular views along the line, with unique ethnic customs.

5 Things You Need to Know About the Moon Landing

It was 42 years ago today that Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the moon. How much do you know about the 1969 lunar landing? Here are five fun facts.

174802main_armstrong_neil_hr

1. Neil Armstrong gets the glory as the first person to walk on the moon, with Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin Jr. not far behind. But don’t forget about the third crewmember. Michael Collins remained behind in the command module while his subsequently more famous counterparts kicked up moon dust. No hard feelings. “I know that I would be a liar or a fool if I said that I have the best of the three Apollo 11 seats, but I can say with truth and equanimity that I am perfectly satisfied with the one I have,” Collins once said.

2. Apollo 11 completed an eight-day, 953,054-mile journey to the moon and back. That’s equivalent to traveling around the Equator about 38 times.

N

3. The journey to the moon took about four days. Apollo 11 blasted off at 9:32 a.m. July 16, 1969, from Kennedy Space Station. It entered the lunar orbit on July 19, and July 20 was the big show. At 1:46 p.m. that day, Armstrong and Aldrin began their descent in the Eagle lunar module. They landed on the moon at 4:18 p.m. at the Sea of Tranquility, and Armstrong opened the hatch at 10:39 p.m.

4. Apollo 11’s moon landing gave us many things: bragging rights over the Russians, the catchphrase “the Eagle has landed” and decades of conspiracy theories about hoaxes and Hollywood soundstages. But most of all, it gave us that enduring line, “It’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” Which makes no sense, as man and mankind are pretty much the same thing as Armstrong phrased it. Armstrong later said his microphone failed to pick up the crucial “a,” as in, “It’s one small step for a man…” Much better phrasing.

5. Moonwalkers—of the NASA variety, not Michael Jackson dancers—are a very exclusive club. Just 12 NASA astronauts have walked on the moon. The last were part of the Apollo 17 crew, who touched down on the lunar surface in December 1972. Eugene Cernan is officially the last person to walk on the moon.

POINTS ON HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR LIFE

On September 18, 2007, computer science professor Randy Pausch stepped in front of an audience of 400 people at Carnegie Mellon University to deliver a last lecture called “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams.” With slides of his CT scans beaming out to the audience, Randy told his audience about the cancer that is devouring his pancreas and that will claim his life in a matter of months. On the stage that day, Randy was youthful, energetic, handsome, often cheerfully, darkly funny. He seemed invincible. But this was a brief moment, as he himself acknowledged.
Randy’s lecture has become a phenomenon, as has the book he wrote based on the same principles, celebrating the dreams we all strive to make realities. Sadly, Randy lost his battle to pancreatic cancer on July 25th, 2008, but his legacy will continue to inspire us all, for generations to come.

This is amazing, he died of pancreatic cancer in 2008, but wrote a book ‘The last lecture” before then, one of the bestsellers in 2007. What a legacy to leave behind
In a letter to his wife Jai and his children, Dylan, Logan , and Chloe, he wrote this beautiful “guide to a better life” for his wife and children to follow.
May you be blessed by his insight.

Health & Fitness, Does sickness indicate health improvement?

Why one fall sick? What causes the disease? Should anyone ignore normal sickness? Can this be taken as a cure of nature and cleansing of body mechanical system?

DISEASE

Health is natural and normal, we believe. But the experienced professionals in the medical field have found (through those who have interacted with them) that sickness or disease for some is apparently more ‘normal and natural’.  The entire excerpts are from Dr. Vijay Venkat’s (The Health Awareness Centre Mumbai) Open House Lecture:

Though the general belief is that disease is inevitable, we contend that all disease are unnatural, abnormal and unnecessary. Further, we hold that SICKNESS WILL NOT OCCUR-UNLESS THERE IS A SUFFICIENT CAUSE.

So, what do we mean by Dis-ease?

Sickness/Disease is a crisis instituted by the body itself. It is always remedial.

The body for the purpose of cleansing, repair and restoration causes &  conducts diseases. Much like house cleaning, sickness infect PURIFIES the body, eliminating toxins and restoring normal body balance.

Disease has a single cause – TOXIC ACCUMULATION (Toxemia /Toxics). This happens when the body can no longer cope with toxic build up.

Toxins accumulate from

(i)                 Un-expelled body wastes.

(ii)                Wrong foods

(iii)               Unhealthy life styles.

Disease affects the whole body and not just a part. The fact that the symptoms are noticeable only in a particular organ does not mean that the rest of the body is unaffected.

In short, everything that affects any part of the body affects the WHOLE ORGANISM.

Body intelligence alone CREATES the sickness; redirecting its energies to cope with an abnormal situation, within the body.

Neither viruses nor bacteria cause disease. They are normal to the body, working symbiotically within the body, to get rid of harmful wastes. Viruses are infect toxic wastes – or dead decomposed cell debris.

It is a misconception, that we need to “FIGHT” diseases. For, it will not occur, unless it is created/caused. By maintaining the simple, basic needs of life, which build and sustain health (wholesome, natural living) the symptoms of disease itself will disappear.

WHAT MAKES YOU SICK ?

Sickness is really a call – a signal from within the cells of our body. Sickness is our body’s way of telling us, that “stop-listen-and take a break”)

There are two kinds of sickness.

ACUTE OR CONSTRUCTIVE SICKNESS

Such as colds, coughs, fevers, vomiting, diaoherra,  rashes, itches, poxes, measles. These illnesses are the body’s attempt to cleanse itself. To throw away the toxins in an intensive, healing manner. Normally, the body gets rid of its toxins and wastes through the eliminatory systems. But, when the toxic overload is too much, the body diverts these toxins to some other organs that can handle it. It is ironical really, that what is infect an effort at cleansing and healing – we have come to regard as illness and disease.

DESTRUCTIVE OR DEGENERATIVE DISEASE

Like cancer, asthma, diabetes, Aids and other chronic ailments. These illnesses are caused due to a long history of suppression. The suppression being due to palliative drugs and medicines. Medicines do suppress symptoms – but that’s all they do. They do not eliminate the cause of illness. An unhealthy lifestyle further perpetuates the illness.

All toxins thereby accumulate (without being expelled) at an average, for about 30-40 years (!) and later erupts as “sickness”, most often, we ignore the small signals, and then are forced to tackle the degenerative, chronic illnesses.

SO IN SHORT, DISEASE IS A PROCESS – NOT JUST AN EVENT.

HEALTH

ENERVATION

TOXEMIA

DISEASE     IRRITATION     HEALTH

INFLAMMATION

ULCERATION

INDURATION

CANCER

THROUGH NUTRITION, EACH OF THESE STAGES ARE REVERSIBLE. VIBRANT HEALTH IS A REAL POSSIBILITY.

IF YOU ARE NOT PREVENTING DISEASE YOU ARE PREVENTING HEALTH

How to kill your Ego? It’s just simple.

When you think, you’re great, just think of greater ones. How to kill your Ego? It’s just simple. Just follow the example, where we think earth is larger one or for that matter the Star Sun as the largest one in the solar system. But in reality, it is quite different.

The Larger Planet in the Universe

Sure, Earth is bigger only when comparing to Pluto or Venus. But when you compare it with Neptune or Jupiter?

Planets, Larger than Sun - Our ego vanishes!

Now, shall we move further to see who is great?

The Outer Planets, Larger ones, yet Invisible.

Oh, in the following picture, even star Sun is smaller and Earth is invisible in the scale!

Larger than Largest Planet of the Universe.

Ooops! Even Star Sun is invisible or works to 1 pixel in this scale!

The Larger than Largest Planet in the Universe, The Antares!

Where is Earth? At this scale, even star Sun stands to show to the size of one pixel and invisible in the above picture. Now tell me, do you still have any Ego?

Bee keeper Wang Dalin attracts 26kg worth of bees

42-year-old beekeeper Wang Dalin was covered by bees during a contest against 20-year-old Lu Kongjiang, also a beekeeper, in Longhui County of Shaoyang City, central China’s Hunan Province, July 17, 2011. Wang Dalin finally won in the hour-long contest with 26 kilograms of bees covering his body. (Xinhua/Lu Jianshe)

IT’S the competition that always creates a buzz.

Two fearless bee keepers – Lu Kongjiang and Wang Dalin – went head-to-head in China’s Hunan province to find out who can attract the most bees.

714194-bee-competition
684293-bee-keeper-competition

Wearing just a pair of shorts and with the help of a queen bee, Mr Wang tipped the scales with 26kg worth of bees in an hour.

And the sting in the tail for Lu Kongjiang was that he managed to attract a swarm of just under 23kg.So close, yet so far away.

But both Wang Dalin and Lu Kongjiang have a way to go before they match Guinness Book of Records holder Mark Biancaniello for the “most bees worn on the body,” title.

He attracted 39.5kg of bees onto his body in 1998.
