Signatures Of World Famous Personalities

Handwriting and signature speaks for itself. It is believed that a person’s handwriting or his signature gives you an instantaneous photograph of his mind. The study of scientific handwriting analysis has explained the relationship between one’s handwriting and his personality.

However, it is quite difficult to conclude a person’s character just by his signature, but we could derive some interesting facts about the person, such as, if the signature has a large initial letter of the first and last name, it indicates a strong large ego, if it’s a small writing we can assume the person is detailed or someone who concentrates deeply, and if the signature has flowing writing it may indicate the person is outgoing.

Here in this article we look at famous personalities and their interesting and cool signatures, which provide us with some amazing information about them.

#1 Bill Gates
Microsoft’s chairman, what you see is what you get

Handwriting analysis experts believe Gates is a man of detail. The round dot over the ‘i’ in his signature talks about his traits. He is patient and will take time to listen to whatever you say; his signature also indicates that he is a very quick thinker.

#2 Tim Cook

Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook has two 2 of his signatures online one is his sloppier signature, which indicates, that he does not want us to know much about him or you can say that his mind is moving faster than he can write. He may be not interested in hearing all the ordinary details but would certainly appreciate if your plan has got some creativity.

His other signature is much clearer; maybe he felt the need to be clearer, realizing his signature is on a big check. This one has very large “C” in last name, indicating his respect or regard for his family line.

#3 Google CEO Larry Page is a good listener

The vowel letters in his signature is wide open suggesting he is a good listener, however, the wide gap between the first and last name says that he loves his personal space. So, make sure when you get to meet him, not to stand too close when you speak to him.

#4 Abraham Lincoln

Lincoln’s signature is quite larger than his handwriting, however in terms of text and signature they are well organized. This highlight is that what we see outside is exactly the same person inside. Usually the similarity between the handwriting and the signature shows honesty and high integrity.

#5 Jack Dorsey, founder of Twitter and CEO

The signature of Jack Dorsey is short but talks a lot about his traits. The @ symbol, identifies him with what he does. The k is ending downwards, if that’s the way he normally signs it signifies that he looks back at his earlier life and derives strength from his past experiences. It also highlights that he is looking at his past life how he was and where he is now.

#6 Mahatma Gandhi

Father of the nation’s signature is extraordinary, even though his signature seems quite unique; it reflects his courageous and kind traits. His unyielding determination characterized his actions.

#7 Albert Einstein

Einstein did not like to be contained or limited by others, this equally reflects in his signature. His hunger for creativity made him discover important theories. His signature indicates he is a man of vision and determination who likes to think forward.

#8 Apple’s co-founder Steve Jobs

His signature highlights his humility; at least what he feels about himself, if not his work. The low upper loop in signature usually indicates someone who is down to earth, and whose focus is on the here and now. The “t” which is leaning towards the left and the capital and no breaks between the letters, suggests that he will never stop what he once did, until he gets the work completed.

#9 Adolph Hitler

Hitler’s unusual analytical strokes in his last name, shows a rare, incisive mind. His instinct for diplomacy made him a world class persuader. His signature highlights his strong and focused mind.

#10 Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer

His signature is quite interesting for couple of reasons. He crosses the ‘t’ in his first name Stephen indicating his enthusiasm and forward thinking, and the “ll” in his second name indicates that he is an intellectual person and takes pride in his accomplishments. He sets his own standards and doesn’t care what others think.

#11 Princess Diana

Here the signature and writings have no space. Usually the way of spacing the signature indicates the person feels being part of the society and a strong sense of belonging to the society. The underlined signature normally highlights a person, who likes to have recognition from the public and to be the centre of attraction.

#12 Michael Jackson

The King of Pop signature reflects his strong desire to express what he feels inside. He gets carried away with his emotions which usually reflects in what he does, which is actually good to a certain extent, as it helped him achieve greater heights in his music career.

Boston bomb suspects are brothers of Chechen origin

Police tell residents to stay indoors and ‘stay away from windows’

(AFP)

Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis confirmed early Friday that one of the suspected Boston marathon bombers is dead and the hunt for the “armed and dangerous” second bomber is still on.

“One suspect dead. One at large,” Davis said on his official Twitter account. “Armed and dangerous. White hat suspect at large,” Davis added.

Prosecutor said one Boston suspect died at hospital after shootout and he threw explosives in chase.

Boston bomb suspects are brothers of Chechen origin, said NBC News. Dead Boston bomb suspect identified as 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev, it said.

Police have told residents of the town of Watertown near Boston to stay indoors and “stay away from windows” as they hunt a second suspect wanted for the attacks in which three people died and about 180 were injured.

Police captured one of the Boston marathon bombing suspects and were chasing a second in a wild, deadly manhunt near the US city early Friday, local media reported.

One police officer was shot dead and a second wounded in the dramatic nighttime operation, authorities said.

One suspect was caught in Watertown near Boston after a chase in which explosives and gunfire were heard, the Boston Globe reported.

Special police forces sealed off much of the town as they hunted the second man, the newspaper and other media said.

The authorities made no comment on whether there was a link between the manhunt and Monday’s bombing in which three people were killed and about 180 injured.

But the operation came only hours after the Federal Bureau of Investigation released photos of the suspects they believe planted the bombs.

A robbery at a gas station was followed by the killing of a police officer on the campus of Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a car chase to Watertown, media reports said.

A second police officer was wounded in a gunfight in the town, they added.

U.S. Immigration Bill to Increase H1B Visa, May Hit Indian Firms

The sweeping U.S. immigration bill, likely to be unveiled, may propose a substantial increase in the much sought after H-1B visa, but the conditions imposed therein, if approved by the Congress, would prove to be a death knell for Indian-American companies.

9nu43Vft

The bill moved after months of closed-door meetings by a group of eight bipartisan lawmakers, known as the Gang of Eight, aimed at striking a balance between enforcement provisions sought by Republicans as well as Democrats, including making citizenship widely accessible to those illegally in America.

Given that India has a large pool of such IT professionals, analysts say any increase in the H-1B visas finally end up benefiting the Indian IT professionals, but unlike in the present scenario when they are hired mostly by Indian companies, it would benefit the US companies the most and prove to be a big disadvantage to companies like TCS, Wipro and Infosys.

It kills me not to be president, says Romney

As President Barack Obama faces one crisis after another, Mitt Romney, his Republican opponent in the November election, says “it kills me” not to be in the White House finding solutions to the nation’s problems.

image

“I’ll look at what’s happening right now, I wish I were there,” Romney told Fox News Sunday said in his first television interview since the election suggesting he would have been more effective in the current political situation.

Accusing Obama of “campaigning” rather than governing as the sequester – $85 billion across the board spending cuts that kicked in Friday – loomed, he said: “It kills me not to be there, not to be in the White House doing what needs to be done.”

“The president is the leader of the nation. The president brings people together, does the deals, does the trades, knocks the heads together; the president leads. And – and I don’t see that kind of – of leadership happening right now,” he said.

Romney said that he was convinced he’d win until Ohio’s vote came in, and that he damaged his campaign by failing to attract black and Hispanic voters and speaking too freely in his infamous “47 percent” comments.

“I think we were convinced we would win. We saw that the polls were very close, but we knew that the energy and passion was with our voters. My heart said we were going to win,” he said.

Romney said he doesn’t look back at the campaign with anger or regret.

“You look back at the campaign and say, ‘OK, what did the president do well?’ And you acknowledge that his campaign did a number of things very effectively.

“Of course you rehearse all the mistakes that you made, and I went through a number of my mistakes, I’m sure. Then you think about the things that were out of your control. But you move on. I don’t spend my life looking back,” said Romney

Girl who performed at Obama’s inauguration shot dead

Hadiya Pendleton, a 15-year-old girl who performed at President Barack Obama’s inauguration last week, has been shot dead in Chicago, a media report said. Pendleton was shot dead while hanging out with friends after school, reported NBC News.

She had performed with the King College Prep school band at Obama’s inauguration. She was standing under a canopy in Vivian Gordon Harsh Park when a gunman came from an alley, opened fire and fled, police said.

She was shot in the back but managed to run about a block before she collapsed. She died at hospital.

A 16-year-old boy was wounded in the attack. Pendleton, who did not have a criminal record, was probably not the intended target. “Never in a million years did I think I would get a call that my own baby had been gunned down,” Pendleton’s mother, Cleo Cowley, was quoted as saying.

She said that Tuesday afternoon she got an unexpected call from one of her daughter’s friends. “She was screaming on the phone that Hadiya’s been shot, she’s been shot, and I just didn’t understand,” said Cowley.

#Obamacare will cost the average American family $20,000 a year

The cheapest plan for family will cost $20,000 per year.

American families will be forced to buy conventional health insurance that primarily benefits the pharmaceutical industry under Obamacare. By 2016 the cheapest health insurance plan available will cost a typical American family $20,000 a year, according to the IRS.

Here’s the news: The IRS just published descriptions of the financial penalties American taxpayers will pay if they fail to purchase the rip-off health insurance mandated under Obamacare.

“The examples point to families of four and families of five, both of which the IRS expects in its assumptions to pay a minimum of $20,000 per year for a bronze plan,” reports CNS News.

It goes on to report, “The IRS’s assumption that the cheapest plan for family will cost $20,000 per year is found in examples the IRS gives to help people understand how to calculate the penalty they will need to pay the government if they do not buy a mandated health plan.”

We warned ya: Obamacare has always been a financial scam

For the record, we here at Natural News repeatedly warned people about the Obamacare scam, describing how it was a forced taxpayer handout to Big Pharma and the dangerous sick-care industry which kills 783,000 Americans a year.

Over the last few years, critics of my reporting on this subject insisted we were “conspiracy theorists” and that Obamacare would offer free health care to nearly everyone! Those who still had to buy health insurance would see rates go down, we were told by hypnotized, Kool-Aid-drinking Obama supporters. That’s why Obamacare is called the “Affordable Care Act,” after all.

How could it be called the “Affordable Care Act” if it wasn’t going to be affordable, they insisted.

So now the truth comes out. Obamacare is a total scam, a complete rip-off, a massive handout to Big Pharma and a disaster to the U.S. wage earner. Obamacare is going to bankrupt America. Every family, small business owner and corporations is going to be financially suffocated under this burden, to the point where tens of millions simply surrender to the system, get on welfare, and become lifelong Democrats voting for larger and larger handouts.

I hate to say it, but once again I told ya so. Did you really think Obama was going to save money for the voters and make Big Pharma’s profits go down? Seriously? (Don’t be so gullible…)

Obamacare was always designed, from the very start, to loot the American taxpayer and put government in a position of monopolistic power over your health care decisions. This is the move toward fascism that’s going to absolutely gut America and put millions of people on the street, homeless, jobless and diseased.

Who can afford $20,000 a year in health insurance?

Like everything else Obama has tried to shoved down America’s throat, the Affordable Care Act is an outright catastrophe. It funnels hundreds of billions of dollars into the coffers of health insurance companies, vaccine manufacturers and drug companies, but it does absolutely NOTHING to help the American people.

Obamacare is, ultimately, nothing more than a financial racket enforced at gunpoint by the government itself. It’s Big Pharma looting your pockets while an armed government IRS agent stands by and nods approval.

Obamacare is institutionalized looting of the paychecks and bank accounts of the American people. It is the equivalent of being mugged at knifepoint with the demand, “Your wallet or your life.” In the case of Obamacare, however, you lose both your wallet and your life!

Impeach Obama, repeal Obamacare, end the medical monopoly that’s crushing America

It’s time those of us who stand for true liberty and justice in America stopped playing so nice. The people who are pushing Obamacare, the NDAA, citizen disarmament and other similar schemes are traitors to America. They need to be removed from power immediately.

But that’s only the beginning: Why doesn’t the FTC investigate the pharmaceutical monopoly enforced by the FDA in which drug companies earn 60,000% profit markups on their FDA-approved drugs?

State medical boards need to be entirely disbanded, as they criminalize alternative medicine, holistic medicine, acupuncture, chiropractic and other forms of healing.

The health insurance scam needs to be eviscerated. Its only purpose is to earn more money for health insurance companies and pharmaceutical interests. The system cares nothing for the American people, and it is based entirely on profit, not compassion or human dignity.

The cancer industry, with all its corrupt nonprofits, is a criminal racket that’s operated much like a mafia. Under the RICO Act, much of modern medicine could be shut down, unleashing the free market forces of alternative and complementary medicine which can provide safe, effective and low-cost health care to the entire nation.

But this is not allowed by Obama. Nor was it allowed under Bush, who conspired with Big Pharma to keep drug prices ridiculously high, soaking Medicare for hundreds of billions of dollars. Time and time again, every U.S. President is a health care sellout, and no one sold it out more completely than Obama.

The more this man does, the worse it gets. Let me ask you this: How are you going to come up with $20,000 a year to pay for health insurance?

Oh wait, let me guess: You think your job is going to buy it for you? Think again: U.S. employers are increasingly offshoring jobs precisely to avoid these costs. So you’re more likely than ever to find yourself unemployed by 2016. All across America, employers are responding to Obamacare mandates by slashing the weekly work hours of employees. U.S. businesses that used to thrive at full production are now experiencing severe shortages because they simply can’t afford to cover Obamacare costs for full-time employees.

Obamacare is absolutely gutting America’s economy it is must be repealed as soon as possible to stop the hemorrhaging of U.S. jobs.

10 solutions for real health care in America

You want a real health care solution? Here are 10 commonsense points:

1) Arrest all Big Pharma CEOs and top executives who have been involved in felony crimes, price fixing, doctor bribery, experiments on children and so on.

2) Outlaw vaccines additives such as mercury, aluminum, MSG and formaldehyde.

3) Decriminalize natural medicine and stop prosecuting alternative cancer doctors.

4) Abolish the FDA and end the drug monopoly cartel. Restore the free market to medicine.

5) Halt all Medicare and Medicaid payments to drug companies, hospitals and health insurance companies. Instead, issue patients VOUCHERS that they can spend in any way they wish, to receive whatever form of care works for them. This would restore the free market to medicine, where competition would drive down prices and spur improved patient outcomes.

6) End all intellectual property claims on genes and medicines. Break Big Pharma’s insidious cycle of inventing fictitious diseases and then marketing those fake diseases in order to sell deadly chemicals to a gullible public. Medicine belongs in the public domain, not in the hands of the greedy few.

7) Break the chain of influence between drug companies and medical journals, medical schools and the media. Outlaw drug money influence over all these institutions. Prosecute doctors for bribery if they have accepted money, gifts or free vacations from Big Pharma.

8) Decriminalize free speech about nutritional supplements, herbal remedies and natural therapies. Allow makers of natural products to tell the truth about the healing benefits of their products.

9) Encourage states to pass “medical freedom zone” laws that nullify federal laws concerning health care in their particular states. Openly allow the practice of alternative cancer therapies, nutritional therapies, etc. Turn your state into a medical tourism destination for all Americans!

10) End the artificial legal protections of Big Pharma and the vaccine industry. Restore due process rights to patients who have been harmed by drugs or vaccines. Only through this will drug companies clean up their act and stop killing to many people.

Hindu Religious Leader Jailed in U.S. For Visa Fraud

f

A Hindu leader from India, who had established a temple in Milwaukee city of the US state of Wisconsin, has been jailed for 37 months for religious visa fraud and would be deported to his native country after serving his sentence.

A Milwaukee court gave its sentencing order after it found Sagarsen Haldar, aka Gopal Hari Das, who is the founder, president, CEO and spiritual leader of Gaudiya Vaisnava Society (GVS), guilty of fraudulently obtaining religious worker visas – known as ‘R-1′ visas – for Indian nationals in exchange for substantial cash payments.

Haldar, 32, will be deported to India after serving his sentence.

According to evidence at trial, Haldar conspired to sponsor more than two dozen Indian nationals to enter the US under R-1 visas.

Typically, the R-1 applications falsely stated that the individuals were religious workers from India who planned to be priests and perform religious work at the GVS temple in Milwaukee, the court was told.

In fact, the Indian nationals had no religious training or experience, and they had no intention of being priests or performing religious work once they arrived in the United States, it was told.

Haldar was charged in June 2010 after Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) special agents arrested him at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago as he arrived in the US from India.

A search of Haldar’s luggage revealed that he was transporting identification documents – including passports and other Indian identification documents – bearing the names and photographs of other Indian nationals.

The HSI probe found that Haldar used the GVS temple as a front for an elaborate religious visa fraud scheme, under which he charged Indians as much as USD 30,000 each in exchange for his assistance to fraudulently obtain R-1 visas.

“This country’s immigration system is not for sale, and those who think they can exploit the system for personal gain will pay the price for their crimes,” said Gary Hartwig, special agent in charge for HSI Chicago.

Ten world’s most outstanding politicians of 2012

The outgoing year will remain in people’s memory for quite a number of major world events. Elections were held, new leaders were elected in many countries. Syria was the most talked-about country in 2012, so Syrian President Bashar al-Assad can be named the politician of the year. Of course, many other significant events took place in different parts of the world. Pravda.Ru offers its own version of world’s ten most outstanding politicians of the year.

Bashar al-Assad

Ten world's most outstanding politicians of 2012. 48994.jpeg

When Time magazine was choosing its Person of the Year, the editors of the respectable publication clearly underestimated Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Despite all efforts of the U.S., EU, Turkey and Arab states of the Persian Gulf, Assad has kept his post. He has turned into nearly the biggest thorn in the eye of Western countries. It seemed that the West sentenced him to resign, but Assad stayed. Rumor has it that Assad is about to receive political shelter in Russia, but he is not going anywhere. The Syrian leader can be considered as a politician of the year just because no other country in the world has received more media coverage than Syria did in 2012. The civil war in the country continues; the number of casualties runs into tens of thousands. The U.S. and the EU, on the one hand, and Russia and China on the other, continue to share different positions as to what to do next with Assad, whether he should resign or it is too early to disregard him. In any case, the Syrian president is not going to leave the scene soon, though the position he is in is extremely difficult.

Barack Obama

It was the U.S. president, whom Time named the Person of the Year. However, Obama has not done much in the international arena. Throughout the whole year, he was preoccupied with his own election campaign, and it was his words, rather than action that attracted attention to his persona. In the end, Obama won the presidential election, beating his rival Mitt Romney by about a million votes. He will continue to rule the country that still remains the most powerful country in the world, at least for the time being. Meanwhile, the United States has to deal with very serious problems. Right before the New Year, Obama was presented with an unpleasant gift – a possibility of the financial cliff. The public debt grows, unemployment does not reduce, social programs are stalled. Enormous defense spending and efforts to maintain dominance in the world affect the state of affairs in the United States. Obama needs to do something about it urgently.

Hu Jintao

For the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China, the year 2012 became the tenth and last year that he spent as the leader of the most populous and rapidly developing country in the world. The Congress of the Communist Party of China officially announced in the autumn of 2012 that Hu Jintao would be replaced by Xi Jinping. Hu Jintao has something to be proud of indeed. China has become the second largest economy of the world. The current global crisis has not stopped, but only slowed down the country’s development. As for China’s politics in 2012, one should mention the conflict with Japan over the disputed Senkaku Islands, or Diaoyu, as they are called in Chinese. A real naval battle occurred, when the Japanese guards shot water cannons at Chinese fishermen. China stood up for its people. China with Hu Jintao at the head showed that he was not going to give up.

Francois Hollande

Unlike the United States, the people of France preferred to change their president. In April 2012, Nicolas Sarkozy was replaced by Socialist Party representative, Francois Hollande. He won the election thanks to the votes of immigrants from Asia and Africa, as well as those who were unhappy with cuts in social spending. So far, Hollande had to face a challenge from the radical part of French Muslims after the notorious film “The Innocence of Muslims.” Hollande, like Sarkozy, had to talk about the stability of secular principles of the Republic. Hollande’s promise to legalize gay marriage turned out to be quite a problem for the new French president. It turned out that such a “triumph of democracy” is not really welcome in France. In addition, in European affairs, it is Germany, rather than France, that plays the first fiddle. Hollande has a whole bouquet of problems to deal with. As for economy, France does not seem to have serious problems with it, although it is far from being perfect still.

Hugo Chavez

The furious president of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, gives something to remember almost every year. This year, it was his health that got most attention. During 2012, he visited Cuba several times to undergo the course of treatment for cancer. His opponents and some Western media outlets reported that Chavez had little time left. However, the “Furious Hugo” has not left politics in 2012. Quite on the contrary, he continues to struggle for his own life. Venezuela held presidential election in 2012, and Chavez defeated the US-backed rival by about nine percent. However, it seems that it is really hard for the Venezuelan leader to retain power. He has openly named his possible successor and even shared powers with him.

Mohammed Morsi

Egypt’s new president has every right to be on the list of ten most outstanding politicians in 2012. The state of affairs in the land of pharaohs remained quite intense throughout the year. They could not count the votes in the presidential election, before it became clear that Islamist Morsi had not beaten his opponent, who enjoyed the support of anti-clerical and pro-Western part of the Egyptian society. After he won the vote, radical Islamists demanded sphinxes and pyramids in the country should be demolished, because, they say, they did not come along with the precepts of Islam. Morsi could play a major role in Middle Eastern affairs, but his hands were tied. When it came to a referendum on a new constitution, which referred to strengthening the role of Islam, it became clear that many disagreed with the president. The expansion of his powers angered many Egyptians. The year 2013 should give an answer to the question of whether Egypt becomes an Islamist country, or maybe Islamist Morsi is not so black as he is painted.

Kim Jong Un

Objectively speaking, he has not done anything, except for the failed launch of the North Korean satellite. Still, Time named the new North Korean leader the Person of the Year in 2012 in reader voting. However, this 30-year-old politician is the head of the most closed country in the world. This fact already attracts attention to Kim Jong Un. People in different parts of the world wonder whether he begins reforms in the country or continues the traditions of the “communist monarchy.” Kim has not given a precise answer to that yet. Maybe the new year will change something?

Tomislav Nikolic

An important event took place in 2012 in Serbia. A representative of conservative, moderate nationalist forces has become the president on the third attempt. Prior to his victory, Nikolic was beaten by pro-Western Democrat Boris Tadic. The Serbs elected him because he was not ready to give up Kosovo for the EU membership. However, the problem that he has to deal with can hardly be solved. He needs to expand contacts with Russia, return Kosovo and stay friends with the EU. If Nikolic copes with it – he can be considered a wizard of politics.

Charles Taylor

Former Liberian President did nothing in 2012. He could not do anything, since he had spent many years in a cell of the Hague Tribunal. Judges did everything for himself, though. Taylor became the first head of state to be convicted by an international court to 50 years in prison for crimes against humanity. He was found guilty of mass murders, rapes, illegal diamond trade during the war in Liberia’s neighbor – Sierra Leone. Rumor has it that Taylor made his soldiers eat captured enemies during the war in Liberia in 1997-2003.

Viktor Yanukovych

The Ukrainian president takes the last position on our list. In 2012, Ukraine became an object of international attention on a number of occasions. There was heated debate about the law that allowed to grant the regional status to Russian and several other languages. The law was passed, despite desperate resistance from nationalist-oriented “orange” activists. The European Football Championship became an important event in the country. The controversy around Yulia Tymoshenko continued too. Finally, after the elections to the Verkhovna Rada, Yanukovych was able to secure a parliamentary, yet unstable, majority. As for the strategic goal of Ukraine, the president pointed out the signing of the agreement of association with the EU. However, the Europeans, being unhappy with Tymoshenko’s imprisonment, ruined the hope. European leaders gave Yanukovych to understand that Ukraine should not join the Customs Union with Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. Russia asked Yanukovych to decide whose side he was on. Yanukovych had to balance. It remains unclear how long he will be able to continue the game with Russia and the European Union.

World’s 10 Most Followed Leaders on Twitter

There was a time when a leader rode on high horse, but now it’s more like being a little birdie that tweets. The technological innovation has changed it even for the leaders who now like to match their steps with the crowd. The list is formed as per the 2012 ranking report on the usage of the social media by the state heads prepared by the Digital Policy Council, an international, non-partisan ‘think tank’ on the 21st Century Governance. Here are the top 10 leaders with high Twitter records, as per rediff.com.

Barack Obama
With over 24 million followers and an additional 15 million followers in a year it’s no surprise that President Obama is on the top spot of the list. His 2012 re election was a major Twitter record breaker. The picture sent out on Twitter of President Obama and the first lady Michelle Obama with the tag, ‘Four more years’, after his win is the most retweeted tweet of all time. On the day of his win over 31 million election related tweets were sent out.

Hugo Chavez
The President of Venuzvela, Hugo Chavez has maintained his number 2 spot with the 2 million followers who joined his account in 2012. When compared to President Obama’s follower count Hugo Chavez has a lot to make up for as he has 20 million less followers compared to Obama.

Abdullah Gül
The President of Turkey, Abdullah Gül has enhanced his number of followers by over 2 million in 2012. Being an early adopter of Twitter, Abdullah Gül does most of his tweeting in Turkish, however the significant statements are also made in English as and when it’s required.
On his first visit to the Silicon Valley in California he tweeted, “This is the first time a Turkish president travels to this region of the US. Here is where technology that changes our lives is born,” reported rediff.com.

Queen Rania of Jordan
Queen Rania, the queen consort of the king of Jordan is on the fourth place. Since she’s facing criticism, which remarked on her playing too prominent part in ‘running Jordan’, Queen Rania had scaled down on her public activities. However this didn’t cap her account form followers wanting to join. Instead the number of followers grew as more than one million followers joined her account. On her Twitter account she called herself as, ‘a mum and a wife with a really cool day job,’ and now has over 2 million followers.

Dmitry Medvedev
The Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is a fresh new entry on Twitter top 10 list in 2012. He has separate accounts to tweet in his Russian language and in English. He created his personal account on his name in both the languages in 2010 and at present the account in his native language has the largest followers. Following Medvedev’s pattern of Twitter execution, many of the world leaders have opened Twitter accounts in both their native language and English, which allows them to reach out to the large public.

Dilma Rouseff
The President of Brazil Dilma Rouseff is on the sixth spot. She is the 36th and present President of Brazil and has been in Office since January 2011. She is also the first women to be elected President in Brazil. During her election in 2011 she had a reasonable number of followers. Since then she was barely consistent at maintaining her account, even then she has a large number of followers joining her account indicating the keen interest of people in Brazil to connect with their President and fill the gap.

Cristina Fernandez De Kirchner
The President of Argentina Cristina Fernandez De Kirchner, better known as Cristina Kirchner or CFK is on the seventh spot.  She is the 55th and the present President of Argentina.
In 2010 when the Argentinean President appeared on Twitter, the political setup in Argentina completely transformed as Twitter turned into a central combat zone between politicians and citizens. Cristina Kirchner sent out five tweets in succession when she was reelected in 2012, congratulating Venezuela with ‘Your victory is also ours’.

Juan Manuel Santos
The President of Colombia Juan Manuel Santos is number 8 on the list. He is another one of the new entries among the top ten leaders, with an increased number of followers estimated to over a million since 2011. In 2012 the tweets on his account got tough since he made it clear that he has his own agenda for Colombia rather than working on those set by the former president Alvaro Uribe.

Enrique Pena Nieto, Mexican President
Enrique Pena Nieto is the 57th and the present President of Mexico. He has remained on the list with his increased popularity on Twitter. He was declared the elected President after the 2012 general election. He returned to power in December 2012 after succeeding Felipe Calderon as the President. On his election day he tweeted, “Now is the time to start a new stage of work, for the good of Mexico,” as per rediff.com. The comment was widely shared.

Sheikh Mohammed
The Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed is on the 10th spot on the Twitter list. In 2012 Sheikh Mohammed’s twitter account had 910,000 followers within a span of a year. In the country he is the second most commented subject as per a recent study. He often shares the events he attended, future plans, ideas and various achievements on his account. Some find his tweet as ‘an image of equality, encouragement and comfortable interaction with citizens’.

The Prime minister of India Manmohan Singh is ranked 19th by Digital Policy Council as the most followed leader of the world on Twitter. Singh superseded British Prime Minister David Cameron and Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, within a span of 12 months.

The leaders who constantly drive to make it better for the people and the country they serve create a special bond with the people. This bond is unique between the state and people, and now with modern technology it is convenient for both state and the public to bridge that gap, and express their views with more lucidity.

Obama urges solidarity as America mourns shooting victims

President Barack Obama urged Americans on Saturday to join in solidarity as they mourn the victims of a shooting rampage at a Connecticut elementary school, saying the hearts of parents across the country were “heavy with hurt” for the lives lost.

In his weekly radio and Internet speech, Obama also repeated a message he put forth on Friday, just hours after one of the worst mass shootings in U.S. history, on the need to set aside politics and “take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this.”

But Obama went no further than that, and again stopped short of specifically calling for tighter gun-control laws.

Twenty children were killed by a heavily armed gunman who opened fire at a school in Newtown, Connecticut, on Friday. He killed at least 26 people there before turning his gun on himself.

“We grieve for the families of those we lost. And we keep in our prayers the parents of those who survived,” Obama said.

The shooting spree reignited a debate over gun-control in a country with a flourishing gun culture and a strong gun lobby, which has discouraged most politicians from any major efforts to address the easy availability of firearms.

Obama mostly steered clear of the issue during his successful re-election campaign this year, and it remains unclear whether he might be willing to take a more assertive approach now that he has secured a second term.

OBAMA URGED TO ACT

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who runs a coalition of mayors on gun policy, said on Friday the Democratic president should press ahead despite likely opposition from Republicans who control the U.S. House of Representatives.

“We have heard all the rhetoric before. What we have not seen is leadership – not from the White House and not from Congress. That must end today,” Bloomberg said in a statement.

Ticking off some of the recent shooting incidents, Obama said in his Saturday address: “As a nation, we have endured far too many of these tragedies in the last few years.”

His response to previous high-profile shootings was to call for a national conversation on how to curb gun violence.

“This weekend, Michelle and I are doing what I know every parent is doing – holding our children as close as we can and reminding them how much we love them,” he said.

“There are families in Connecticut who can’t do that today. And they need all of us now,” he said. “All of us can extend a hand to those in need – to remind them that we are there for them, that we are praying for them.”

The 20-year-old gunman, who law enforcement sources identified as Adam Lanza, opened fire on a classroom at Sandy Hook Elementary School, which serves children from ages 5 to 10.

Authorities found 18 children and seven adults, including the gunman, dead at the school, and two children were pronounced dead later after being take to a hospital.

“Most of those who died were just young children with their whole lives ahead of them. And every parent in America has a heart heavy with hurt,” Obama said.

Obama had to struggle to control his emotions during his televised statement on Friday in the White House briefing where his voice cracked and he wiped away tears.

Partisan bickering in Washington, divided by a battle over a looming “fiscal cliff” of tax hikes and spending cuts, was put on hold amid mourning for the Connecticut dead.

House Speaker John Boehner, the top Republican in Congress, said he had canceled the Republican weekly address for Saturday “so that President Obama can speak for the entire nation at this time of mourning.”
