Albert Einstein’s warning letter to Jews sells for nearly $14,000

A letter from Albert Einstein warning the Jews of the “calamitous peril” posed to them by the Nazis was sold at an auction for double the estimated price at nearly $14000.

According to Los Angeles auction house, Nate D Sanders, the letter was in, “ very good to near fine condition” and was sold for $13,936 including buyer’s premium.

The typed letter, which the Nobel laureate wrote to a New York based businessman, Hyman Zinn, praises him for his work in helping the Jews flee harassment in Hitler’s Germany.

Einstein himself fled Germany in 1933 when Hitler came to power and the letter was written three years after that in 1939.

“It must be a source of deep gratification to you to be making so important a contribution toward rescuing our persecuted fellow-Jews from their calamitous peril and leading them toward a better future,” the BBC quoted his letter, as stating.

“The power of resistance which has enabled the Jewish people to survive for thousands of years has been based to a large extent on traditions of mutual helpfulness.”

“In these years of affliction our readiness to help one another is being put to an especially severe test. May we stand this test as well as did our fathers before us,” he added.

A Teenage Girl Calls For Help Via Facebook, dies!

The popular social networking site Facebookhas now become a medium for last minute update for people dying or seeking for help. The news was brought out by “The Sun” which revealed the post of the 18 year old girl Siobhan Ullah on Facebook.

 Being unable to shout for help the teenager texted her dad Yousuf Ullah downstairs ” I can’t breathe’. Via her Blackberry mobile.

The 45 year old Mr Yousuf Ullah rushed to his daughter’s room and desperately tried to calm her down enough to use an inhaler.But Siobhan whispered: “I think I’m going to stop breathing. I think I’m going to die.”After few minutes her face turned blue and she collapsed in the floor with a massive heart attack.
Before the arrival of an ambulance forklift truck driver Mr Yousuf , used CPR(Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) in a bid to revive her .However the doctors turned off her life support machine 24 hours later in front of her whole family which includes her 47 year old mom Naureassa, and three brothers Ryan, 25, Daniel, 24, and Sean, 22.

After the demise of Siobhan Ullah her dad Mr Yousuf said “She didn’t have the lungs to shout for help, so she texted me. “Siobhan was diagnosed with asthma when she was five, but we never thought this would happen”. “About 1,500 people die each year when asthma stops their hearts but it’s rare for someone so young and so very full of life.” Added Yousuf

The mourning family members of Siobhan wants to acquaint people with the fact that Asthma is a killing disease.

Her dad stated: “We don’t want our beautiful daughter and sister to have died in vain.” “People must go to their doctors for treatment ” and need to know what to do if someone has an attack.” He said

Siobhan was recently offered a seat at Bradford University in performing arts and had even recently met actress Anne Kirkbride while filming scenes from Coronation Street in the city.

Siobhan was described by her father as a “typical teenager”, always texting friends and using Facebook on her BlackBerry.

He further stated: “It was her dream to become a star of the stage but she has always been our brightest star. We are so proud of her.”

Many of her friends have posted messages on Facebook, with one asking: “Why’d this have to be your last status? love you so much.”
