There are many celebrities who have died due to various reasons. But there are few celebrities who have experienced weird deaths and are still an unsolved mystery. The reasons were like drug overdose, accident and illness, but the situations and what they were facing brings many questions for the reasons behind their death.

Princess Diana

The princess of Wales is well known world over not just for her royal ties but also for the charitable efforts taken by her. It’s over a decade but her death which is said to be by a car accident is still an unsolved mystery. Her wrecked marriage was a major reason for media surrounding her all the time. The constant speculations about her personal life gave her a huge attention. The reason for her car accident that took place in Paris, France, was because of the paparazzi chasing her. The driver wanted to be out of the sights of those journalists and speeded up the car which resulted to her death.

After the accident, she was rushed to the La Pitie Salpetriere, the hospital that is well known for their supreme facilities. The princess underwent serious wounds and her coronary artery also got cracked. There are other reports too, that says she wrote a letter to her previous butler, Paul Burell stating that her life was in danger. The member of her family also passed information to her to be careful as her car brakes can be tampered which would lead to an accident. After the divorce with Prince Charles there was a belief if the majestic family was engaged in plotting her death. This was the major reason for Diana to refuse for having the government security around her even when many recommended. Diana felt that police was the only government weapon that would lead to her death any second.

Marilyn Monroe

On august 5, 1962 the dead body of Marilyn Monroe was found in her bedroom of her Brentwood home. The superstar was found nude and facing down her bed. She was 36 years old when she was dead. There were speculations about her death if it was an accident, suicide or a murder. The autopsy reports revealed that it was an accidental suicide by drug overdose. Her name was hooked up with john f Kennedy which made her fans think if that was a reason for her murdered. After death Marilyn Monroe is more famous than she was before.

The Nirvana lead singer, guitarist and the song writer was found dead on April 5, 1994. The band Nirvana was one of the best American grunge band of those days. Kurt Cobain was too much into drugs and media was too much into in his family life. Cobain was found dead in his house located in Seattle. The body was found after 3 days. The autopsy reports say that it was a suicide by self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head. There was a suicide note found next to his dead body. The king country health inspector said that there were stabbed wounds inside both the left and right elbow. Several theories were raised about his death. After getting discharged from the rehab he was may be a target of enemies leading to a murder.

Elvis Presley was found dead on august 16, 1977. He was one of the most famous American singers of the 20th century and was called as the king of rock and roll. He was famously known by his single name Elvis. His death was a big tragedy to the nation as they lost musical legend. His fans say the passion of Elvis for amulets and historical remains, lead to a horrifying death. His dead body was found in bathroom of his master bedroom. He was said to be ill for years before his death and drugs was the major cause of his death, the autopsy report revealed. Despite of his death there was no peace. There were people who wanted to steal his body from the grave. Huge money was made by media as his death was said to be as one of the greatest mystery of those times.

The lead singer of the rock band “The Doors” was found dead in the on July 3, 1971 in a bathtub of a Paris night club. The official reports revealed the reason to be a heart failure due to the overdose of heroin. His parents never spoke out about his death to the fans or media. This is where the mystery starts. He had a interview with a female called Lizzie James, where he told he had a strong dislike for drugs and needles and he never did heroin in U.S. then how come he had heroin in Paris?

The king of pop was found dead on June 25, 2009. It was a great shock for the people world over. He carried more of attention in 80s and 90s for his change in physical appearance and his pop songs which made people crazy. He died due to acute Propofol intoxication that led to cardiac arrest. The personal physician, Murray was arrested and was later proved innocent as it was an involuntary manslaughter. His sudden death had a deep impact on both public and the celebrities. The famous R&B group, TLC’s singer and rapper died in a very young age. She was killed in a car accident on April 25, 2002. She was driving a Mitsubishi Montero sport. The car crashed with two trees to avoid the collision with the truck. She suffered severe neck injuries and head trauma. As the front seat passenger was doing video recording, the last few minutes of the accident was taped. There was a documentary made on her life which shows that there was a spirit following her which had a similar surname. This was said to be the reason for her death by her fans and the documentary.

Heather was just 12 year old when she died. She died in the year 1988 due to medical error. She underwent a lot of pain due to blunders by the doctors who were treating her. She was a television star and played the lead role for the horror film, Poltergeist. Her death is said to be a strange one because at the same time few other cast members also died. The speculations by the people were that the film was cursed. Her death had a long lasting effect on her family and media industry.

The American actress and singer died on June 22, 1969. Judy died out of drug overdose which was out of the stress of losing all the money. She was found dead by deans in the bathroom of their rented house in Chelsea, London. The death report states that her it was accidental and the autopsy showed that there was no inflammation of her stomach lining and no drug residue was found. This means she was too much into drugs.

Other interesting facts:
Apparently Lincoln had a dream several days before the assassination that he had been killed.
He told his wife that he had seen himself in a casket.

Also, Lincoln’s son Tad had a pet turkey named Jack. Tad asked his father not to kill the turkey for Thanksgiving.
Although Harry S Truman started the official tradition, Lincoln was the first to “pardon” a Thanksgiving turkey.

Now what would be real interesting is if Kennedy had a pet named Abe or had pardoned someone by that name. Thus far, I haven’t heard of that. Skeptics disagree

Some skeptics say that you could take any two famous people and find a number of similar-type coincidences between them.
The only problem with that theory is that there really haven’t been any listings of such comparisons.
And certainly none has been as extensive as the Lincoln-Kennedy similarities.

Chennai innovator gives voice to the voiceless

After a master’s from IIT-Madras, Ajit Narayanan headed to the U.S. like many of his batchmates. But the entrepreneurial bug soon bit and he returned home. What followed was a speech synthesiser for spastic children and a recognition by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as one of the world’s top 35 young innovators.

Narayanan, 30, is the founder and chairman and managing director of the city-based Invention Labs Engineering Products Pvt Ltd. He has been named one of the 35 outstanding men and women innovators under 35 years of age by Technology Review (TR) magazine, published by MIT.

He got the acclaim for his product Avaz, a tablet-like communication device for spastic children.

“It is a prestigious award and I feel happy about it. Not many engineers work in this field and it is a nice feeling that fellow engineers appreciate and award products like ours,” Narayanan told IANS in an interview.

Completing his master’s in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-M) in 2003, Narayanan went to the US to work for American Megatrends.

“I came back here in 2007 mainly to become an entrepreneur. Some of the IIT professors were doing some work for spastic children and they told me to look at development of a product that would help such children,” Narayanan said.

It was then that he decided to develop a cost-effective speech synthesiser.

Avaz costs around 30,000 ($650), while similar products in the US cost upwards of 500,000 ($10,800).

“The major challenge was designing the product that will be easily used by a spastic child. As they do not communicate, we had to discuss with the teachers and parents to understand spastic children and design the product,” Narayanan said.

He said some four million people in India suffer from cerebral palsy and other disabilities that make it difficult or impossible for them to speak.

“These children’s condition is worse than the hearing- or speech-impaired,” he said.

A person can use Avaz to construct phrases that are spoken out loud by an artificial voice through in-built speakers. The user can press icons and even type sentences, which the device then converts to voice.

According to him, the total investment in developing the product was around 4 million out of which there was a central government subsidy of 1 million.

Speaking about marketing, Narayanan said: “We are targeting the schools for special children and there are parents who buy this equipment after coming to know about Avaz from the teachers.”

“Selling to special schools will have more impact on the users. We would like to make a bigger positive impact on children than looking at retail sales alone.

“I’ve seen parents weep when Avaz allows them to talk with their child for the first time,” Narayanan said.

He is currently working with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, to improve the quality of speech synthesis. He also plans to use mobile application stores to distribute a version of his software with about 90 percent of the Avaz system’s functionality.

The company has sold around 100 units since its launch in 2010.

“If this device is made eligible for 10,000 subsidy by the central government under its scheme for purchase of equipments for differently-abled, then the sales would go up,” Narayanan said.
